Owner/Director

Chanitra Sanders

Chanitra Sanders, Owner and Director of Miles of Smiles Childcare & Preschool, founded the program in 2019 with her husband, AJ. What began as a small in‑home center serving 10 children has grown into a thriving early learning program after relocating to its current site in 2021.

With over 20 years of experience working with children of all spectrums, Chanitra leads with compassion, structure, and a commitment to high‑quality, developmentally appropriate care. Her vision continues to shape Miles of Smiles into a warm, family‑centered place where children learn, grow, and shine.

Owner/COO

A.J. Sanders

AJ Sanders is the COO and Co‑Owner of Miles of Smiles Childcare & Preschool. As the operational backbone of the center, AJ manages the building, oversees staff, and ensures that daily operations run smoothly and safely. He thrives on teamwork and believes that a strong, united staff creates the best environment for children to grow.

AJ and his wife, Chanitra, began Miles of Smiles in their home in 2019 with only 10 children. Their shared dedication and hands‑on leadership helped the program grow quickly, leading to its relocation in 2021 and the thriving center it is today.

Program Coordinator

KNesha Gaut

Knesha joined Miles of Smiles in February 2023, beginning her journey in the infant room before growing into a skilled toddler teacher. Her dedication, patience, and eagerness to learn quickly set her apart.

Today, she serves as our Program Coordinator, where she trains teachers on curriculum, supports lesson planning, monitors the food program, and assists with any additional operational needs. Her growth, leadership, and commitment make her an essential part of our team.
